<p>Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath slammed the Samajwadi Party for attending a meeting of Opposition parties in Patna to forge unity against the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, saying the Akhilesh Yadav-led party is an "expert in Chipko Andolan". CM Yogi was speaking at a public rally in Gautam Buddh Nagar's Noida, where he unveiled 124 development projects worth over Rs 1,719 crore in Noida and Greater Noida.</p> <p>[tw]https://twitter.com/myogiadityanath/status/1672949709424726016[/tw]</p> <p>He also stated that every pro-Indian and Sanatan Dharma follower around the world is looking forward to January 2024, when Ram Lala will relocate to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.</p> <p>When asked about Akhilesh Yadav's attendance at the Patna meeting of opposition parties, he said, "When the Samajwadi Party, the Rashtriya Lok Dal, the Janata Dal (United), and others who are called followers of JP (socialist icon Jayaprakash Narayan) collude with those (Congress) who trampled democracy, the public also begins to see how they tried to hide their misdeeds and corruption," PTI quoted him as saying. </p> <p>"There is a long history of the Samajwadi Party. Like in 2004, they extended their support to Congress without being asked. Despite the fact that the Congress did not want their support, the Samajwadi Party forced it. "This party is a 'Chipko Andolan' expert," Adityanath added.</p> <p>"The Samajwadi Party has done it before, and they've done it again this time." But, brothers and sisters, we must maintain our positive attitude and continue our development journey," he said at the event.</p> <p>The Chipko Movement was a nonviolent agitation launched in 1973 by local communities in present-day Uttarakhand to protect and conserve trees in response to rising deforestation. In an effort to save the trees, locals, including women, hugged them.</p> <h3><strong>Adityanath Extols Ramnath Goenka, Honours Democracy's Defenders In Emergency Era</strong></h3> <p>Yogi Adityanath called Ramnath Goenka a "shining pole star" of the media world on Sunday as he renamed a road here after the founder of The Indian Express and said everyone should work for press freedom.</p> <p>On the 48th anniversary of the Emergency declared by then-prime minister Indira Gandhi, Adityanath described June 25, 1975, as a "black day" in the history of Indian democracy. Amaltash Road, which connects Rajnigandha Chowk in Sector 16 to Sector 12, has been renamed 'Ramnath Goenka Marg' by Adityanath. This is where The Indian Express's office is located.</p> <p>"June 25, 1975, is remembered as a black day in the history of Indian democracy." However, during that time, India witnessed the struggle and sacrifices of those who had put their lives on the line to save democracy and media freedom. They demonstrated their willingness to go to any length to fight for democracy," he was quoted as saying by PTI.</p> <p>"Ramnath Goenka ji is a shining pole star in the world of media. Whenever there is a discussion about media freedom and democracy, Ramnath Goenka ji's name will be remembered with reverence and respect," he added.</p>
