A team from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) arrived in Varanasi on Sunday to conduct a scientific survey to determine if the Gyanvapi mosque located next to the Kashi Vishwanath temple is built upon a temple. Advocate of the Hindu side Madan Mohan Yadav said that an advocate each of the petitioners will accompany the survey team, news agency PTI reported.&nbsp;</p> <h3><span style="color: #ba372a;"><strong>Allahabad HC To Hear Plea Against Proposed Demolition Of Mosque Minaret In Ayodhya</strong></span></h3> <p>As the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya nears completion, a fight is on in the Allahabad High Court over a minaret of an 18th-century mosque encroaching on the proposed Ram Path, a road leading to the temple. The matter will be heard by the Lucknow bench of the high court on Monday (July 24). A minaret of Khajoor ki Masjid in Gudri Bazaar in the heart of Faizabad city is said to be encroaching on the proposed Ram Path by three metres, PTI reported.</p> <p>The mosque committee has filed a petition in the high court. Trying to forcibly demolish the minaret is condemnable.&nbsp;</p> <h3><span style="color: #ba372a;"><strong>Plea On Free Sanitary Pads For Class 6-12 Girls To Be Heard By SC</strong></span></h3> <p>The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on Monday a plea seeking directions to states and the Centre to provide free sanitary pads to class 6-12 girls and ensure separate female toilet facility in all government-aided and residential schools, PTI reported.</p> <p>The plea by social worker Jaya Thakur is scheduled to be heard by a bench of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra. The top court had earlier asked the Centre to prepare a Standard Operating Procedure and a national model to be adopted by all states and Union Territories for managing menstrual hygiene for girls studying in schools.</p> <p>On April 10, the top court had said the issue was of immense importance and that the Centre should engage with all the stakeholders for implementation of a uniform national policy on management of menstrual hygiene in schools, including government and aided schools.</p>
