PM Modi To Inaugurate Rajkot International Airport Tomorrow During 2-Day Visit To Gujarat, Rajasthan

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Thursday inaugurate Rajkot International airport during his two-day visit to Gujarat and Rajasthan. On Thursday, Modi will reach Rajasthan&rsquo;s Sikar where he will lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation various development projects in a public programme. He will then reach Rajkot where he will undertake a walk at the international airport and thereafter inaugurate various development projects. On Friday, the Prime Minister will inaugurate SemiconIndian 2023 at Mahatma Mandir in Gujarat&rsquo;s Gandhinagar.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The greenfield airport at Rajkot has been developed in a total land area of more than 2,500 acres and at a cost of over Rs 1,400 crore. The Prime Minister&rsquo;s vision to improve air connectivity across the country will get a fillip with the development of a new International Airport in Rajkot. The new airport has an amalgamation of modern technology and sustainable features, said the Prime Minister&rsquo;s Office in an official statement.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The terminal building is GRIHA -4 compliant (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) and the New Terminal Building (NITB) is equipped with various sustainability features like double insulated roofing system, skylights, LED lighting, low heat gain glasing etc.</span></p> <p><strong>ALSO READ: <a title="'Bharat Will Be Among Top 3 Economies In My Third Term': PM Modi Shares Vision Of 'Developed India'" href="https://ift.tt/g6jCptl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">'Bharat Will Be Among Top 3 Economies In My Third Term': PM Modi Shares Vision Of 'Developed India'</a></strong></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Inspired by Rajkot's cultural vibrancy, the airport terminal will depict art forms from Lippan art to Dandiya dance.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&ldquo;The Airport will be an epitome of the local architectural heritage and will reflect the cultural glory of art and dance forms of Kathiawar region of Gujarat.&nbsp; The new airport in Rajkot will contribute not only towards development of the local automobile industry of Rajkot but will also encourage trade, tourism, education and industrial sectors throughout Gujarat,&rdquo; said the PMO.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Apart from the airport, the PM will also inaugurate developmental projects worth more than Rupees 860 crore. The projects include Sauni Yojana Link 3 Package 8 and 9, upgradation of Dwarka RWSS, conservation, restoration and development of Uparkot Fort Phase I &amp; II; construction of water treatment plant; sewage treatment plant; flyover bridge, among others.</span></p>
