Delhi Metro To Run 20 Extra Train Trips Across Its Network From Today: DMRC After GRAP-III Imposition


Delhi Metro will run 20 extra train trips across its network starting November 3 in view of the measures taken by pollution control authorities on Thursday to encourage more and more people to use public transport in Delhi and neighbouring cities, officials said.


Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 402 at 5 pm, prompting the Centre's pollution control panel imposed Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) that is implemented in the region during the winter season.


"In view of the implementation of GRAP-III stage to combat pollution in Delhi, the DMRC will be further adding 20 extra trips across its network starting tomorrow i.e, 3rd November 2023 (Friday)," the DMRC said in a statement.


Delhi Metro is already running 40 additional train trips on weekdays (Monday-Friday) from October 25 onwards when GRAP-II stage had come into force.


Bhutan King Wangchuck To Begin 8-Day India Visit On Friday


Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck will begin an eight-day visit to India on Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.


It said the visit would provide an opportunity to both sides to review the entire gamut of bilateral cooperation and further advance the "exemplary" partnership.


The King of Bhutan will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is expected to deliberate on various aspects of close India-Bhutan ties.


External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and senior officials of the government will call on the King of Bhutan, the MEA said.


"The King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, accompanied by senior officials of the Royal Government of Bhutan, will be on an official visit to India from November 3 to 10," it said in a statement.


PM Modi To Inaugurate World Food India Festival On Nov 3


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the World Food India festival on Friday at Pragati Maidan.


He will also disburse seed capital assistance for over one lakh self help group (SHG) members, on the occasion. Participants from over 80 countries, including CEOs of prominent food processing companies are expected to attend the event.


Innovation and strength of Indian food processing industry will be showcased during World Food India 2023. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate Food Street as part of World Food India 2023.


It will feature regional cuisines and royal culinary heritage, wherein over 200 chefs will participate and present traditional Indian cuisine, making it a unique culinary experience.
