New Delhi: Hitting out at the BJP over its election manifesto for Telangana, state Congress chief Revanth Reddy said people in the state do not take the saffron party seriously as they have failed to keep their earlier promises.
“There is no need to discuss the BJP's manifesto because they do not have any stake here. The BRS manifesto and the BJP manifesto are one and the same. People here do not trust them. Whatever promises they made, they did not keep it. We look at the manifesto in the same way,” Reddy said.

His remarks come a day after the BJP released its manifesto for Telangana. The party announced 25 key promises, including 4 percent reservation for Muslims, a chief minister from the backward class (BC CM), four free gas cylinders every year, relief in petrol and diesel prices, among others.
Further mocking the BJP over its promise of making a chief minister from the backward class if voted to power, Reddy said how can a party make such a promise when it is not even ready for a backward caste census.
Addressing an event in Hyderabad, Reddy said, “People are not ready to believe what they are promising.” He further noted that in the 10 states that the BJP is in power, there is only one chief minister from the backward class.
The state Congress chief also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his promise to constitute a panel to explore all options for the empowerment of the Madigas.
Voting for the 119-member Telangana assembly will be held on November 30 and the results will be announced on December 3.
