'Problem Started As Gehlot Govt Left': Congress Blames Change Of Guard For Karni Sena Chief's Death

<p>The murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, the national president of Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena, has triggered a political blame game between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress. Gogamedi was shot dead in his house in Jaipur by three armed men, one of whom was killed in retaliatory firing. The incident, captured on CCTV, also left one of Gogamedi's security guards injured. The assailants had visited Gogamedi's house on the pretext of a meeting.</p> <p>Congress leader Rajeev Shukla emphasised that the Karni Sena president's killing occurred shortly after the party was voted out of power in Rajasthan. Shukla accused the BJP of creating a disturbance during the polls and questioned their response to the current situation. "Justice was being done under the Gehlot government, and as soon as it left, the problem has started," he remarked, as per news agency PTI.</p> <p>Pramod Tewari, a senior Congress leader, also attributed the incident to the BJP coming to power in the state. He highlighted the need for immediate action and security measures.</p> <p>"The courage of criminals in Rajasthan has gone up just after the information that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is coming to power in the state. It was under the Congress regime that culprits were nabbed within four hours. If in Jaipur, the capital, this is the situation, then you can imagine for yourself," he said, as quoted by PTI.</p> <p>Congress leader Pratap Singh Khachariyawas emphasised the severity of the matter, calling for immediate police action against the criminals involved as well as holding the responsible officials accountable.</p> <p>He told news agency ANI, "Now the time has come that the police should immediately encounter such criminals... The government should take immediate action against the officers from whom Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi had sought security."</p> <p>[tw]https://twitter.com/ANI/status/1732070648997204232[/tw]</p> <p>Earlier, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, blaming the previous Congress regime in Rajasthan, attributed the deteriorating law-and-order situation to gang wars that flourished during the Ashok Gehlot government. He stated, "We are committed to arresting the accused as soon as possible.
