District Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar issued an order on Saturday, declaring holidays for students up to Class 8 in all schools in Noida and Greater Noida until January 14. The order applies to schools affiliated with various boards, including the state board, CBSE, ICSE, IB, and others, PTI reported.</p> <p>District Magistrate Maneesh Kumar Verma's instructions preceded the announcement as a decision was taken considering the dense fog and extreme cold.</p> <p>As per PTI, District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Dharmveer Singh specified that, during this period, classes for students in Classes 9-12 will be held from 10 am to 3 pm. The forecast predicts cold wave conditions along with fog on Saturday and Sunday, followed by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and fog on Tuesday.</p> <p>In Delhi, Saturday witnessed moderate fog in the morning, with the maximum temperature settling at 15.2 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average. The minimum temperature was recorded at 8.9 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average. Train services were affected, with 14 Delhi-bound trains experiencing delays due to fog, according to officials.</p> <p>The weather department anticipates mainly clear skies and cold to severe cold day conditions on Sunday, with maximum and minimum temperatures likely to hover around 6 and 8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
