Please follow this space and keep refreshing the page for all the latest updates from India and around the world.</p> <h3>Interim Govt Headed By Yunus To Take Oath On Thursday: Bangladesh Army Chief</h3> <p>Nobel laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus-led interim government will take oath on Thursday, Bangladesh's Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman said.</p> <p>Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, General Waker said the interim government is likely to be sworn in at 8:00pm on Thursday.</p> <p>He also said the advisory council may have 15 members. The 84-year-old economist, was appointed on Tuesday as the head of interim government by President Mohammed Shahabuddin. His appointment came a day after Sheikh Hasina resigned as the country's Prime Minister and fled to India, following violent uprising against her government, which started as a protest against controversial quota system in government jobs.</p> <p>On Wednesday, Yunus was acquitted in a labour law violations case. Besides him, three other officials of Grameen Telecom were also acquitted by the Labour Appellate Tribunal.</p> <h3>Election Commission To Meet Political Parties In J&amp;K</h3> <p>The Election Commission of India will visit Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday to meet political parties and get their feedback on conducting Assembly polls in the Union Territory.</p> <p>The office of the chief electoral officer, Jammu and Kashmir, issued letters to various political parties, inviting them for a meeting with the Election Commission (EC). The political parties have been given time slots for the meeting with the poll body. &nbsp;</p> <p>The visit comes weeks before the Supreme Court's September 30 deadline to hold electionsin the UT.</p> <p>The EC, led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, is set to visit J&amp;K from August 8-10 to review preparedness for Assembly polls. Kumar will be accompanied by Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and S S Sandhu.&nbsp;</p>
