TRAI Issues New Guidelines: Telecom Companies Warned And New Rules Established | Paisa Live

Are you also bothered by unsolicited calls and messages? These issues not only cause frustration but can also lead to unwanted consequences. In response, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued new guidelines. All telemarketing calls must now be migrated to the 140 series for better monitoring and control, with a deadline for telecom companies set for September 30. Starting September 1, messages cannot include URLs, APKs, OTT links, or callback numbers. TRAI also mandates that from November 1, 2024, all messages must include complete sender and receiver information; otherwise, they will be rejected. Content templates registered in incorrect categories will be blacklisted, and repeat offenders may face a one-month suspension. Any issues with headers or templates will lead to suspension and require legal verification before reinstatement.
