US President Donald Trump called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as a 'dictator' on Wednesday and warned he had to move quickly to secure peace or risk losing his country.

Trump also accused Zelenskyy of persuasding the US to invest billions of dollars in a war he believed could not be won, and questioned the allocation of resources and Europe's lack of equal financial contribution.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, "Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and “TRUMP,” will never be able to settle."

He added, "The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe’s money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back. Why didn’t Sleepy Joe Biden demand Equalization, in that this War is far more important to Europe than it is to us — We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation. On top of this, Zelenskyy admits that half of the money we sent him is “MISSING.” He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden “like a fiddle.” A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left."

"In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only “TRUMP,” and the Trump Administration, can do. Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the “gravy train” going. I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues...", Trump further said.

On Wednesday, Zelensky said that Trump was living in a Russian 'disinformation' bubble, responding to the remarks by the US president about Zelensky’s popularity rating.

The Ukrainian leader also accused Washington of helping end Russian President Vladimir Putin’s international isolation, and said he wanted security guarantees from Kyiv’s allies that could enable the war to end this year.

Accusing Moscow of misleading Trump, Zelenskyy told reporters in Kyiv, “Unfortunately, President Trump, for whom we have great respect as leader of the American people… lives in this disinformation space."

However, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke to Zelenskyy and expressed his support for Ukraine's leader. "The Prime Minister spoke to President Zelenskyy this evening and stressed the need for everyone to work together," a statement issued by Starmer's office after the call said, Reuters reported.

"The Prime Minister expressed his support for President Zelenskyy as Ukraine's democratically elected leader and said that it was perfectly reasonable to suspend elections during war time as the UK did during World War II."

"The Prime Minister reiterated his support for the US-led efforts to get a lasting peace in Ukraine that deterred Russia from any future aggression", the statement further added.
