<p>Security has been beefed up in various parts of the country on Friday as the nation gears to celebrate the festival of Holi which coincides with the Friday namaz during the ongoing holy month of Ramadan. </p> <p>Ahead of the festival, police conducted flag marches in several parts of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh to ensure a law and order situation in the country. </p> <p>Special security arrangements are also been made after <a href="https://ift.tt/Emc0RVf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">some politicians</a> and a <a href="https://ift.tt/Kzun3Za" target="_blank" rel="noopener">police officer</a> courted controversy in recent days, suggesting that Muslims should stay indoors till noon or cover themselves while coming out of their homes to avoid any inconvenience during the Holi celebrations. </p> <p>In view of the volatile situation, mosques in various Uttar Pradesh cities including <a href="https://ift.tt/x7EJocK" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sambhal's Shahi Jama Masjid</a> apart from <a href="https://ift.tt/dwEgDJp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Lucknow</a>, Kanpur, and Bareilly have postponed the timing for Juma (Friday) namaz to 2:30 pm. </p> <p>Muslim clerics have also urged the community members to offer namaz in their nearest mosque and avoid going too far during the Holi celebration.</p> <p>Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also appealed to the people to <a href="https://ift.tt/hsXLPme" target="_blank" rel="noopener">celebrate Holi with harmony</a> and not forcibly apply colours on anyone. </p> <p><strong>ALSO READ | <a href="https://ift.tt/qUXIjrf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">'Bura Na Mane': MP Quazi's Appeal To Muslims On Holi Celebrations In Ratlam</a></strong></p> <h2>Additional Security Measures In UP </h2> <p>Civil and police authorities in Uttar Pradesh have put in place additional security measures to ensure the festival passes off peacefully on Friday. </p> <p>Police said they have chalked out a comprehensive security plan in view of heightened concerns about possible incidents in localities with mixed population. Enhanced patrolling, deployment of surveillance drones and maintaining tight vigil are among the security plan laid out by the police. </p> <p>"The police administration across the state is prepared for the Holi festivities. Several rounds of peace committee meetings have been held in all districts across the state," Director General of Police Prashant Kumar told PTI.</p> <p>Several mosque administration in the city have decided to cover the structures to prevent it from being stained with colours. Apart from Lucknow, 189 mosques across the state in several districts including Bareilly, Sambhal, Shahjahanpur, and Aligarh in central-western UP have been covered with tarpaulin sheets to protect them from splash of Holi, reported The New Indian Express. </p> <p>Officials said they are also keeping an eye on social media and will take action against those making inflammatory posts and provocative content that could spark unrest. </p> <p><strong>ALSO READ | <a href="https://ift.tt/LRx0qfg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Maharashtra Govt To Beef Up Security, Fadnavis Issues Guidelines For Peaceful Holi And Namaz Celebrations</a> </strong></p> <h2>Delhi Police Step Up Vigil, Security Beefed Up In Gurugram </h2> <p>Police in the national capital have also stepped up vigil to ensure law and order situation on Friday. More than 25,000 police personnel along with para military forces have been depolyed to keep strict vigil in the city. </p> <p>Over 300 sensitive locaitons have been identified by the police and are keeping an eye on every situation using drones and by monitoring CCTV cameras.</p> <p>Police have also held regular meetings with Aman committee at every district of the city. All 15 police districts across the national capital have been directed to increase patrolling, particularly in residential areas and places known for Holi gatherings, the Delhi Police said. </p> <p>Meetings with the markets welfare associations (MWAs) and resident welfare associations (RWAs) have also been held by the police for peaceful conduct of the festivals.</p> <p>In Gurugram, the police have set up 62 additional checkpoints to maintain law and order and traffic in the city. </p> <p>A total of 72 Police ERVs and 135 Police Riders teams will be deployed for quick response, the Gurugram police said. </p> <p>A total of 37 checkpoints have been set up in all four police zones -- East, West, South and Manesar-- for general duty while 25 checkpoints have been established by the traffic police in these zones.</p> <p><strong>ALSO READ | <a href="https://ift.tt/5nrovCa" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Telangana Police Issue Warning For Holi 2025: 'No Throwing Colours On Unwilling Persons, No Public Nuisance'</a></strong></p> <h2>Rajasthan Steps Up Security</h2> <p>Police in Rajasthan held peace committee meetings in various districts to celebrate the two festivals peacefully. </p> <p>In Alwar district, Muslim Meo community took a lead to foster harmony and brotherhood as commuity leader Sher Khan announced to hold the Juma Namaz (Friday prayers) at 2 pm instead of 1.30 pm.</p> <p>Rajasthan DGP Utkal Ranjan Sahoo, said in a statement, that the festivals give us the message of goodwill, harmony, mutual love and brotherhood.
