'I Don't Regret The Vote': Wisconsin Man Stays Loyal To Trump Even After His Immigrant Wife Arrested

<p>A Wisconsin voter who supported US President Donald Trump in November is still loyal to the Republican, even after his Peruvian wife was arrested by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement last month as part of a federal crackdown on illegal immigration.</p> <p>Camila Mu&ntilde;oz, the wife of Bradley Bartell, is a Peruvian national who overstayed her first visa while pursuing permanent residency in the US.</p> <p>Bartell continues to back Trump, who has promised to carry out the biggest mass deportation operation in American history. "I don't regret the vote," Bartell told Newsweek.</p> <h2>About Mu&ntilde;oz</h2> <p>Mu&ntilde;oz came to Wisconsin Dells in 2019 on a work-study visa, which ended about the time COVID-19 hit and travel abroad was halted. She met Bartell while working in agriculture and hospitality, and he gave her his number on a piece of paper, which she originally threw away.</p> <p>They reconnected on Facebook a few days later and got into serious relationship.&nbsp; The couple got married, however, the epidemic prevented the couple from taking a honeymoon.</p> <p>They took honeymoon trip to Puerto Rico in February. &nbsp;When Munoz returned, immigration officials enquired about her citizenship status. She was arrested after explaining that she was applying for a green card. &nbsp;She is currently detained in a Louisiana ICE facility.</p> <h2>What Bartell Said?</h2> <p>While speaking to Newsweek, Bartell talked about how upsetting it was to see his wife in custody. "It's all been a nightmare, really," he stated. &nbsp;"We have a lawyer. &nbsp;It is taking longer than it ought to because of the system's extreme inefficiency.</p> <p>Bartell has encountered criticism since he shared his experience. "Many individuals have sent me hateful messages, claiming that we deserve this," he added.</p> <p>Bartell has called for reform and criticised ICE. "It appears like ICE never actually has any information. For improved departmental communication and procedures, the system must be redesigned. &nbsp;In addition, he acknowledged that if his wife is deported, he has thought about relocating to Peru.
