Woman Books Cab, Finds Office Team Lead As Driver; Calls It ‘Peak Bengaluru Moment’

<p>In Bengaluru, a woman was left surprised when she booked a cab ride, only to find that the driver was a team lead from her own office. The incident came to light after the woman shared her experience on social media platform X, describing it as a &ldquo;peak Bengaluru moment.&rdquo; In a screenshot of a WhatsApp message shared online, she wrote, &ldquo;Funny thing happened you know. While some viewed it as a light-hearted moment reflecting Bengaluru&rsquo;s unique work culture, others were more sceptical.</p> <p>One user remarked, &ldquo;Being stuck in traffic for hours &ndash; to pass time? Sounds fishy!&rdquo;</p> <p>Another recounted a similar cultural contrast, writing, &ldquo;When I worked in [the] US, CEO of a large MNC, whom we invited to [our] home said he worked as a server in a hotel without any inhibition and we were fairly surprised at that time. Here in India, it is a big deal. If this is true, he will make it big in life as he is hard working. Good luck.&rdquo;</p> <p>However, not everyone was convinced by the team lead&rsquo;s explanation. &ldquo;No one does it for fun, probably facing financial issues,&rdquo; one comment read, while another questioned, &ldquo;How can a team lead have so much free time?&rdquo;</p> <p>This is not the first time such an incident has caught public attention. In July 2024, a story about a 35-year-old Microsoft software engineer who moonlighted as an auto-rickshaw driver on weekends to combat loneliness went viral. A photo shared in that post showed the engineer in his company-branded hoodie.</p>
