Trump Pauses Military Aid To Ukraine After Clash With Zelenskyy At Oval Office

<p>The United States is pausing military aid to Ukraine after a spat between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Oval Office last week.</p> <p>This is not permanent termination of aid, it's a pause," Fox News quoted a White House official.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Ukrainian leader was told to leave without the deal being signed after the heated exchange between him, Trump and US Vice-President JD Vance.&nbsp;</p> <p>"President Trump has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution," Reuters quoted an official.</p> <h2>Zelenskyy's Gratitude Message For US</h2> <p>During a heated conversation at the Oval Office last week, Trump criticized Zelenskyy for being insufficiently grateful for Washington's backing in the war with Russia.</p> <p>Later, the Ukrainian leader shared a video message expressing gratitude to the United States.</p> <p>"Of course, we understand the importance of America, and we are grateful for all the support we&rsquo;ve received from the United States. There has not been a day when we haven&rsquo;t felt gratitude," Zelenskyy said in a two-minute video. He also expressed gratitude for the preservation of Ukraine's independence.&nbsp;</p> <p>"Our resilience in Ukraine is based on what our partners are doing for us &ndash; and for their own security. What we need is peace, not endless war. And that&rsquo;s why we say security guarantees are the key to this," he added.&nbsp;</p>
